First of all, as an ex-referee I thought today’s official got the 4 major decisions correct – 3 penalties and a red card.
During the first half Town were superb. It was the Omar Bogle show! He was superb, harassing and putting Barnet under pressure. The first goal was an own goal, with Bogle’s shot being deflected in by a Barnet defender. Bogle then fired in the 2nd between the keepers legs, after putting the Barnet centre half under pressure and forcing him to slip, then pouncing on the ball and scoring.
In the 2nd half, Gowling brought down Akinde and conceded a needless penalty which was dispatched with aplomb. 5 mins later, we then conceded another penalty with the same result, so after an excellent first half we shot ourselves in the foot.
At the death, we were awarded a spot kick. Unfortunately, Omar dispatched this into the Pontoon.
Fair play to the Pontoon for chanting Omar Bogle after the game. A disappointing result in the end but, I still give Man of the Match to Omar Bogle.
