We are sure most of you will have seen the bad news that Grimsby Town’s No1 fan Graham Holness has unfortunately been diagnosed with bowel cancer which requires surgery and treatment. There can’t be many over the years who have not come into contact with Graham and been asked “what is the score going to be today” or “who are we signing next week”. He is certainly a permanent fixture at the ground and has been seen there virtually every day year after year even during the close season.
Susan Mullen has kindly set up a fundraising page for Graham and his family to help them during these difficult times. We are sure that as usual when Town fans are asked to support one of their own they will respond magnificently both financially and with moral support. Please help if you can- here is the link :
Another great way of helping is to take part in Les Brechin’s next Fishy Buster. Les is very kindly donating 25% of the takings to Graham’s fund and so why not have a bit a fun, stand a chance of winning a sizeable cash prize whilst at the same time helping a great cause. If you want to take part you can find details here :
Graham’s family have requested that if you see him over the coming weeks please do not mention the “C” word to him. He doesn’t really understand what is wrong with him and they would prefer for that to remain the case. We are sure that you will join us in wishing Graham all the very best in fighting this terrible disease.
