Hi all; Below is a revised Depth Chart, following recent signings:
(CAPITALS denotes starter, lower case denotes reserves. In order of likely preference.)
It contains a fair amount of guesswork, then assumes injuries, suspensions, and asks: ‘what would Paul Hurst do?’ A couple of reasonable questions – who will start at Right Back? What strikeforce partnership? Which wingers? Nice, healthy competition for places. A subs bench along the lines of Toto, Tait, Clay or Brown, Monkhouse and Amond doesn’t look half-bad…

MCKEOWN
Bastock
East ( as per initial interview!)

Defenders (RB-RCB-LCB- LB):

TOTAL SQUAD SIZE: 20 (JMcK/CB/DE/AN/JG/SP/GR/JS/JM/CDis/CC/SB/NA/JV/JPP/OB/AM /MM/RT/PA)
Notable changes; signings of Padraig Amond, Andy Monkhouse, Marcus Marshall and Richard Tait, and the announcement by asst.boss Chris Doig that he has hung his boots up.
We have 6 players new to the club and I make it 20 senior players.
In terms of depth, we suddenly have more cover for the wide midfield roles. Our weakest position in terms of cover may still be left back, but there is a degree of guesswork about some of these choices. And an element of nostalgia – remember Jack Mackreth at right-back at the end of last season for 20mins? And so on……
Finally, because we have 2 specialist ‘keepers and rarely have one on the bench, I note that Shaun Pearson and Danny East may have to compete for Emergency Goalie position; hopefully neither needs to don the gloves.
