“I have been an avid Mariners fan since I first went in 1973 with my Dad. We lost and it was four games before I saw us win, but it didn’t put me off. I was hooked. I’ve been involved in the Electrical and Lighting industry all my life. My other passions are Cricket, Music, Classic Cars, walking the dog and generally just having fun.”
Congratulations Brian, what are your first views on your appointment?
My first view after being appointed, is have have huge shoes to fill as Dave Roberts is someone I really admire, who has done such a fantastic for fans and Club. I have a lot to learn about the running of a football club, but I’m a quick learner and keen to do a good job.
What do you think you can bring to GTFC?
I think I can bring some of my business management experience, enthusiasm, fun and willingness to help where required to help make the Club successful on and off the field.
What are your thoughts on Trust Board members, also being on the Board of the Football Club?
It’s very important to have fan representation at board level and we are fortunate that the Club recognise this. Through the Mariners Trust our fans bring to our attention things that may not be heard or considered and can present these views in a clear and sensible manner.
What are you most looking forward to?
I’m looking forward to getting to know staff and working alongside them. I love building strong relationships and along with Kristine Green hope to help create a stronger more successful working environment. On the pitch I’m hoping for an upturn in fortunes as essentially in football if a Club has success there, much of the rest falls in to place.
