As we communicated in our Statement following the Club’s release of 2025-26 Season Ticket information, the Mariners Trust Board are extremely disappointed that the Club have chosen to remove the 5% discount that Trust Members have enjoyed for a number of years.
Following this, the Trust Board cannot ignore the sentiment on social media that for some fans, obtaining this discount was the sole driver in their being members of the Mariners Trust and that they now see no point in being a Trust Member.
We fully accept that this is their prerogative, but the Mariners Trust is now asking members to think twice before cancelling their Trust Membership.
As well as the representation on the Club’s Board, the Mariners Trust creates and contributes to initiatives that enhance the match-day experience, as well as facilities available at Blundell Park.
Your Membership of the Mariners Trust allows us the financial ability to do this.
Over the past two seasons the Trust are proud to have:
• Created the new Toilet facilities in the Lower Stand, together with enhanced Disabled facilities
• Funded the complete renewal of equipment & refurbishment of the Hospital Radio broadcasting point
• Contributed 50% of the cost of upgrading the Blundell Park PA system
• Covered the ongoing hire costs for portable toilets
• Provided improved facilities in the Fanzone such as roofing
• Covered maintenance costs for the Defibrillators at Blundell Park
The Trust has invested over £65,000 in these projects – costs that the Club would have had to find.
The Mariners Trust is also proud of its charitable activities. In 2021-2022 the Trust administered the influx of donations relating to fans wanting to help other fans attend the play-off final at The London Stadium. As well as helping Town fans attend the Final, the volume of donations received has allowed the Trust to partner with the NSPCC to help families attend Blundell Park. To date over £10,000 of tickets have been provided.
The Mariners Trust Board are all volunteers, and we will continue to give our time to support football initiatives and charitable initiatives. Like you, we all support Grimsby Town Football Club and want all teams and players within the club to achieve success.
